Animal Adventures ๐Ÿฎ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿข๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ

Recently my boyfriend and I visited Wild Animal Adventures on Portrack Lane, Stockton. We’re very much habitual creatures and have somewhat neglected ‘date night’ for some time so we decided to do something different and shake things up a bit.

We set off early sunday morning and stopped for a cheeky veggie breakfast before our train. Having been before we found the place easily and where greeted by a member of staff who informed us there was piglet handling on that day and would we like participate? URMMM YES PLEASE! ๐Ÿ˜

Arms with bags of food to befriend animals with we headed inside where the birds, amphibians & reptiles where housed. Racing each other to press our noses up against the glass in competition as to who could spot the camouflaged chameleon first (which was of course yours truly ๐Ÿ˜). We then headed to the Batcave – a dark humid room lit up by few fluorescent lights that just allowed you to see the family of bats flying by your head. Several Batman jokes later we headed outside where some of the more exotic animals lived such as lemurs, Coati & Raccoon dogs.

After watching them for a while and feeding handfuls of food to the pigs and goats we headed to the piglet handling where we met Jeffrey – a adorable 2 month old Kunekune piglet. He and his brother Burt were being hand raised by the staff after it became unsafe for them to stay with their mother and what a fine job they were doing! Pigs are actually very intelligent animals which Jeffrey kindly demonstrated by sitting on cue in exchange for a bit of carrot (I used to train dogs so this amused me to no end!)

After a quick cuddle we headed to the handling section where you can get up close and personal with all kinds of creatures including snakes, tortoises and more familiar furry friends such as rabbits and chinchillas. Overall we were there for around two hours and had a lot of fun. Not only does the place provide the wildlife exhibit and important information about the creatures housed there such as if their population status but it is also apart of Teesides biggest pet shop. Animal adventures is really good if you are looking for something different to do – especially if you have kids. Not only is it family friendly but its reasonably priced too. A great day out even for us big kids ๐Ÿ˜‚

Anyway that’s all from me today!

Until next time,

Abby -x-
