You should never underestimate the power of a bubble bath.
That’s right they aren’t just for kids! As an ‘adult’ I indulge more in them now than I ever did as a child. Why? Because to me there isn’t a problem a good bath and a few bubbles can’t solve. Feeling sore? Have a bath. Stressed? Have a bath. Life falling apart? Have a bath.
I’m an easily stressed out person and find nothing that is as soothing and stress relieving than that of a hot bubble bath. Sure, there’s spas and facials but nothing quite lives up to a bath. For me, it is a place where I can clear my mind. Somewhere I can unwind after a stressful day and process my thoughts. I don’t know what it is but there is something about the water can calm me, comfort me or even rejuvenate me– who knows maybe I was a mermaid in a past life!
I can be in the tub soaking for a while (especially if I have a wine glass in hand🙈) so it’s important to me that I have some products on standby to help create and maintain that relaxing atmosphere. So whether you’re feeling a bit run down or simply need some well-deserved you time here are a few things you can do at home to create your own personal spa:
For me this is the most important thing. I mean who doesn’t want a bath without bubbles? Not only does this cover your dignity should anyone come barging in (rude) but there are bubble baths out there that leave your skin feeling amazing and smell incredible. I recently purchased the vanilla milkshake bath gel from The Little Bubble and Co and it is the most amazing thing I have ever smelt! Not only does it smell incredible but it also leaves my skin feeling super soft and I am absolutely in love with it.
Candles are essential if you are going for the relaxing route. Not only do they create ambiance and get you in the mood for some peace and quiet but you can also cater the scents to your mood depends on how your feeling. Some people like lavender when they are trying to relax, you may like to use citrus smells for that refreshed feeling. I personally love thick sweet smells or fresh scents.
I’m just gonna say it. I like to have alcohol with my bath. I know a lot of people enjoy a glass of wine in the tub but I’m not a wine kinda gal. I’ll usually enjoy a tall glass of Amaretto and coke or a mug of hot chocolate during the colder months.
BOOK & MUSIC
A good book or a little bit of music can really help you unwind. I personally love reading in the tub until I prune. Sometimes I like to sit back and listen to soft music to help me relax but sometimes all I need is a bit of peace and quiet to be alone with our thoughts.
SALTS AND BATH BOMBS
I love LUSH products, they have such a wide variety from lotions and gels to bath bombs. They have something for everyone! I love their butter bars, especially their butter bear one. If you haven’t tried one and love your skin feeling and smelling great you should definitely check them out. I also like to use bath salts but this is usually for recovery purposes after a workout to help relieve aching muscles.
Everyone loves a face mask and what better time to use on than in the bath? Enjoy fifteen minutes of blissful peace and quiet whilst your skin is primed and prepped and your good go! Is there a better way to multitask?!
You’ll have to excuse my images in this post. I didnt really feel comfortable having my legs out for a bath pic 😂
So is there anything I’ve missed? How do you like to unwind? Let me know I’d love to hear!
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,
