I popped to town the other day after having a mini meltdown when I realised I was running low on my current setting spray. Knowing I had a super sweaty gym session planned later that day I gathered my list that I was not to stray from. Promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything I didn’t need and headed to the shops.
Four hours and three bags later I returned home 🙄😂
Now I know what you’re thinking and I admit it. I caved. BUT a lot of the things I bought were things we needed (you know those normal everyday things like toothpaste and ironing water which apparently make you an adult) I just ended up spending a smidge more on myself than I had anticipated.
My first stop as always was Primark. This is because – and let’s be honest, it takes the longest to get me out of. Going to Primark is like a day out for me. I would be in there all day if I could. Luckily for my shopping companion we visited our local shop and not one of the bigger stores so I only came out with two things with the promise of McDonalds finally managing to lure me out of there.
The first thing I got was an off the shoulder Bardot with a cute frill and bright floral design. I am in love with this style at the moment and the material was nice and stretchy to cover any areas I didn’t want showing.
The other item I picked up was one of the famous Holler and Glow Masks. I’ve seen these all over social media and have been dying to get my hands on one so I decided to give them a try. I picked up the Dream Snatcher Balancing mask purely because I couldn’t decide and the designed is galaxy themed like my blog logo. I can’t wait to try this out!
I made a beeline for New Look next when I saw the word ‘SALE’ plastered all over the shop windows. This offer was also on their beauty and fragrance range as well as their clothes. I ended up coming out with one of their perfumes which I got for £6.74 instead of £8.99. Their range of perfumes are great if you’re looking for a cheaper everyday fragrance. I got the scent ‘Dusk’ which is a thick sweet scent but they do have lighter, fresher tones too.
Next I headed to Boots and noticed there was an offer on all Rimmel products which was perfect as my setting spray is from their new range. Picking up their 2-in-1 Insta Fix and Glow Setting Spray I also grabbed the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder and bought the two as a combo as I’d been wanting an alternative powder to use on a day to day basis instead of my beloved RMCA powder.
Heading to the till the Barry M stand caught my eye and spotted a gorgeous rose gold glitter nail varnish that I would go perfectly with a dress I have recently gotten for an upcoming occasion. Unable to resist I picked that up too and headed to the till. I mean the more Boots points the better right?
My last stop was good old B&M which is a personal favourite of mine. I was relatively quick in here picking up the things I needed before remembering I needed some new makeup cloths and spied some in the beauty aisle for just £1.99. They claim to be able to remove makeup with just water (which I won’t be doing regardless) but I was intrigued and they were super soft so I threw them in the basket too.
Now what started as a trip to the shops ended up being a really good day. It wasn’t a big splurge. Trust me could have been a lot worse. (I mean walking out of Primark with just a few items was an accomplishment in itself and when I spotted the Mrs Potts makeup bag…I had to force myself outta the shop!)
I was kindly treated to a naughty McDonalds for lunch and also picked up a few bits for my ever so patient partner. Even managing to get him to try a few things on which sounds easy but is no easy feat. It’s like trying to wrestle a bear into a cage. But overall it was a lovely day and I am really pleased with my purchases. I’ll be doing a review on a couple of the products mentioned so keep your eyes peeled
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,
