A New Beginning 🎇

Hi Guys,

First of all I wanna say happy new year! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas. Did Santa bring you everything you wanted? For me Christmas was spent with my friends and family, drinking too much and eating like kings, that and running around like a headless chicken at work. But that’s Christmas for you.

Anyway I thought sharing my goals for 2018 was the perfect way to kick off the year. Now I’ve never really been one to make new year resolutions (let alone stick to them) and yet each year, at the stroke of midnight I would vow to myself that I would lose weight or save money etc. Now don’t get me wrong, there is something really refreshing about the start of a new year but you can make changes at any time of year if you wanted too so this year I’m taking my own advice and setting myself some resolutions but with a bit of a twist…

Yes you read that right. I’m not going to make any resolutions. For me my resolutions were always long term and drastic. They were totally unrealistic. As much as I’d like too am I really gonna lose five stone in a year? Of course not! So this year instead of focusing on the long term I’ve decided to focus on now and set goals for myself for each month or every few months.

But Abby what do you mean? Well this year I’d like to lose weight and create a healthier lifestyle but instead of thinking about the future I’m setting myself goals on how I can begin to achieve that now. For example this month I’m aiming to get myself back to the gym at least twice a week. Nothing major but it’s a step in the right direction. I also know that I’d like a mini break this year so I may set aside x amount of money per month in order to achieve this. I just feel that this is so much better for my mental health. I can set myself doable monthly goals to reach that final result by completing small but significant steps.

This year I’m wanting to get into the best shape of my life. I wanna lose some weight and build an ass to rival Sommer Ray’s (😍) . To do this I’m going aiming to hit the gym at least twice a week this month as well as focusing on creating meal plans every week so I know exactly what I’m eating and when and stop me from binge eating all the cookies in the biscuit cupboard.

I’ve spent the majority of my life worrying and stressing about the smallest of things and where has it got me? Nowhere. I’ve come to realise that no matter how much you stress or worry about something the outcome will be the same regardless if you worry or not. I’m trying to take each day as it comes. No planning ahead or thinking about the future. I just want to live in the moment. I want to say yes to more things and stop sweating the small stuff. Of course there is always going to be ups and downs but I’ll worry those when they come. Not now.

Last year I began my blog and I’m really keen to dive back into it. I’ve been putting more time into my Instagram recently and really want to focus on uploading more frequently on both platforms this year. As well as regular uploads I also want to take more photos as this is something I enjoy doing and become more integrated with the blogging community.

Last year I realised just how important looking after yourself truly is – both physically and mentally. I’ve lived with my crappy body for 24 years now so I’ve always had to look after myself that way but mentally I had been neglecting myself. Luckily I’ve found a few ways to help take care of my mind such as taking time out or writing my worries down.  Just little subtle changes to look after myself rather than bottling it up inside and eventually and exploding like volcano 🌋

So there are my goals for 2018! Did any of you have any New Year resolutions? I’d love to hear them if you did!  Have happy 2018 everyone!

Why I Love Christmas 🎄🎅❄️

December is finally here and the countdown to Christmas has officially begun! I was so excited that I had the tree up and done on the 1st and you know what I don’t regret a thing! I’ve always had a sense of excitement over Christmas. Even now as a so called ‘adult’ I still fill with joy and wonder when this time of year comes around.

But Abby Christmas is so stressful. Well yes I mean there’s the pressure of buying gifts and braving the jam packed malls and that’s without mentioning the traumatic experience that is cooking Christmas dinner (🙄🙄) So why do I love Christmas?

Decorations 🎄
Is Christmas even Christmas if you don’t cover your house in a crap tonne of crazy decorations? Personally this is one of my favourite things about Christmas. I love putting up the tree and filling my house with dozens of decorations as it makes it feel much more homely and cosy. I also love going to look at other peoples decorations. You know the ones with who have a million and one neon santas lit up like Blackpool Illuminations? Yeah those are the best to look at on a chilly night!

Christmas songs 🎶
Because who doesn’t right? I love listening to an good old Christmas classic, especially when I’m doing something festive like wrapping gifts or putting up the tree. It gets me right in the Christmas spirit!

Shopping 💸
Although stressful at times, Christmas shopping is one of my favourite things to do. I love looking for gifts for my family and picking out colourful paper to wrap them in. I love stopping for a festive drink and watching the hustle and bustle of the streets.

Christmas movies 🎥
Is there anything better than settling down with a blanket and a hot chocolate and watching a good old Christmas film? I plan to watch as many as I can before Christmas eve but The Grinch and The Santa Claus are a must every year!

Christmas Dinner 🍽️
Can I really talk about Christmas and not mention Christmas dinner? I think this is probably most people’s favourite part of Christmas and it’s easy to understand why ( as long as you’re not the one cooking it all!🙄) Christmas dinner is the best. I mean normal dinners are nice but at Christmas all the festive ranges come out which means stuffing, cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets and that’s not even mentioning dessert!

Family Time❤️
As much as I love food what I truly love about Christmas is the way it brings us all together. It’s the one time of year that everyone travels home to spend time with one and other and create memories. Christmas a time to reunite and to forgive and forget. It’s about being with each other. It’s about caring. It’s about togetherness and most of all it’s about love and that is why I love Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,

YouTubers You Need To Watch! 📹

Happy Wednesday everyone! How’s your day going? I’m sorry about the lack of posts recently, our Wi-Fi is down so I’m having to find other ways to upload! I’ve had a hectic few days but today my plans consist of sitting on the sofa surrounded by snacks and watch a whole host of YouTube (if the internet will let me that is! 🙈🙈)

Besides good old Netflix, YouTube is my main source of entertainment and it is a dangerous place. What starts out as a ‘quick catch-up’ inevitably turns into an all day binge. I can’t help it. You watch one video then boom you’re sucked into a YouTube wormhole until 2 am. So today I’m bringing you some of  my favourite channels so that you can enjoy watching them too 😊

Shane Dawson
Shane is by far my favourite youtuber. When I found him I felt as though I had found the male reincarnation of me (we both love food and are a bit weird). Shane was unlike anyone else I’d seen and was an absolute breath of fresh air. What I love most about him is that he is isn’t afraid to be himself or poke fun at himself and let’s be honest when he, Ryland Drew and Garret get together – they make weird look cool. He makes the most bizarre yet hilarious videos I’ve ever seen and I look forward to watching him every single day. So If you’re into conspiracies, fatty foods and just general craziness then go check Shane out – you wont be sorry.

I don’t think 😂

Jamie Genevieve
Scottish gal Jamie is the queen of makeup. Seriously her makeup skills are absolutely amazing and is my number one for makeup tutorials. I really love her vlogs. She is such a beautiful, down to earth person and being able to see a bit more of her made me love her even more (especially as she’s got a big floof just like mine) so if you love makeup go and watch her!

Love him or hate him it’s fair to say that everyone has probably heard of Pewdiepie. Although known as a gaming channel Pewds seems to have evolved recently, steering away from just gaming and embracing his weirdness a bit more and I love it. I love his satirical humour and how he doesn’t take himself too seriously. It’s fresh, new and exciting and I look forward to watching more of him. Squad Fam Out 👊

Sophia and Cinzia
These two babes always crack me up. From Hauls to casual chats about boys, life and friendships these girls hold the pearls of wisdom all us girls need to hear. They are so relatable and down to earth and always have me laughing. A hidden gem of YouTube you should deffo give these gals a watch!

FightTIPS is a channel dedicated to teaching you how to fight and anti bullying self defence techniques through mixed martial arts. What I love about this channel is that it’s not all about being strong or fighting. But about being smart. Showing you ways to talk yourself out of a situation. How to use the environment and flee and yeah – how to KO someone if it comes to it 😂 Seriously everyone should learn self defence. So if you have five minutes go and watch a few of his tutorials.

Jenna Marbles
You may have noticed a bit of a theme by now. I like the unusual people. Don’t get me wrong I love makeup tutorials as much as the next girl but it’s those who are that little bit different that really stand out and no-one stands out more to me than my gal Jenna. I absolutely adore her. I think she is the person I’ve watched the longest and honestly I don’t think I’ll ever tire of her. What I love about Jenna is that you never know what you’re gonna get with her. One day she’s reacting to funny videos and the next she’s bleaching her eyebrows! The girls an absolute hoot but to be honest it’s her dog Kermit (AKA Cermit) whose the real start of the show. Just go watch. You’ll soon see what I mean.

Being subscribed to over 30 channels it would take me ages to go through them all but some of my other favourite tubers include the OG of YouTube that is Zoella, Fitness Guru Carly Rowena, the unique Helen Anderson, the lovely Gabriella Lindley and the gorgeous Emma’s Rectangle.

And there you have it folks! Do any of you watch YouTube and if so who do you watch? Please let me know as I am always on the look for some new channels to indulge in. Hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for stopping by!

P.S You’ll have to forgive me for the poor quality photos but yano copyright and all🙄 have a good day!

Makeup Haul ❤️

Hi there! I’m not gonna lie I kinda went a bit crazy on the shopping front recently and have acquired a lot of new makeup over the last few weeks. Oh well, girls gotta treat herself every now and then right? RIGHT?! Anyway I thought I’d share some of the things I picked up in case you guys are interested in getting your hands on any of these yourselves 😊

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I love this foundation. I’ve purchased this before and fell in love with it so much that I got myself a new one. It’s a full coverage foundation and suits my skin really well as it doesn’t break out me but also looks looks flawless on. It’s a full coverage foundation and lasts hours so I only really use it for nights out/events or bad skin days so not to waste it.

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara
Yup. I gave into the hype. I had heard so many good reviews about this mascara and  finally managed to get my hands on it. I have really crappy short, stubby lashes but this stuff gives them some serious lift leaving them super long and fluttery.

Misguided Throw Some Shade Palette
I was surprised when I received this for my birthday as I didn’t know that Misguided did makeup but I have to day I was presently surprised! The palette contains  three dark eyeshadows, a highlighter, a blush and a gorgeous nude matte liquid lipstick making it ideal for in a rush or on the go!

Makeup Revolution Highlighter drops
I was super excited to try these after watching a few reviews on them online (I swear YouTube is the reason I buy 80% of my makeup)  I chose the colour Champagne and although a beautiful colour I have to say that they weren’t as pigmented as I had been hoping but left me with a really natural subtle glow that would be great for an every day look.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
One of my holy grail products! I absolutely lurrrrrve this stuff. It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin, dry skin or normal skin, a few squirts of this stuff and your makeup ain’t going nowhere!

Primark Instagirl Priming Oil
I was curious to try this when I spotted it in my local Primark. It’s part of their latest Instagirl range (how fitting) and claims to prime your skin as well as leave you with a dewy finish which is something I am interested in trying out as I’m usually an matte kinda gal.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick
I love Rimmel’s stay matte collection. I’ve got a few different colours in my makeup bag already but I’m a sucker for a good ol’ nude so couldn’t resist trying this ‘Latte to go’ colour after seeing Sophia and Cinzia rave about it online.

Primark Lightening Drops
Another little Primark goodie I spotted were their lightening drops. There’s nothing worse than buying a foundation and realising its the wrong shade – especially if you had to order online – so I picked these up just to see if they worked and save me from such situations so we will have to wait and see!

And that’s everything! I’ll be doing a full review of some of these products once I have tried them out so keep your eyes peeled! 👀 Which ones are you most excited for me to try?

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by!

Pints, Pals & Pizza |Birthday Celebrations 🎈🎈

Hi guys! I’ve had such an eventual few weeks so apologies for not uploading as frequently this week. I was sick for a few weeks, then I managed to injure myself and then on Friday it was my birthday! I turned 24 (though I feel 60 with my aching joints and grey hairs haha) and spend the weekend celebrating with family and friends.

My actual birthday was Friday but I had already had some pre birthday drinks with some friends the weekend before so spent Friday doing what I love best – lazing around in pyjamas watching movies and eating chocolate. After FINALLY seeing Moana we got dressed and headed to see some family before coming back home to meet some friends and headed out.

One of my bestest frends, Dave. He’s a newbie blogger too and can be found at tis.dave.com

We spent the evening bowling which, I was rather worried about (lets just say I haven’t had the best experiences when it comes to bowling) but it was a lot of fun, indulging in candyfloss cocktails and a huge pizzas what wasn’t to like?

On Saturday I did a little bit of shopping after work which my colleague had gotten me a cake 😱 i totally didnt expect it but it was such a sweet gesture and melted my heart. For tea we headed to KFC before hitting the cinema to see the new Jigsaw movie – which was great by the way!

Honestly i had such a lovely weekend. It was nice to meet up with people and just have some fun, I’m very thankful for my gifts and now have a crap tonne of Amaretto to drink. Seriously, I think I have like three bottles. My friends must think I’m an addict or something 😂 I had a really great day and I’m grateful for each one of my fam and friends who made my day that little bit more special ❤️

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Makeup|Venom 🕷️

Okay so if you follow my blog you’ll know that I love Halloween and there was no way I was gonna make it through the whole October without uploading at least one Halloween makeup look. Now most girls wanna be something cute for Halloween but I’m a bit of a nerd so I wanted to go for something a bit different and eventually decided on Venom.

Who is Venom?
Now for those of you who don’t know, Venom is a character from the Marvel universe who is most well known for being the enemy of Spider-Man. I chose Venom because I love Marvel but I’m also a huge Tom Hardy fan and decided to  create a look in tribute to his new upcoming Venom spin off. So without further ado lets get into it!

What you will need:

  • Black face paint
  • White face paint
  • Red face paint
  • Black eyeliner
  • Black eye pencil
  • Makeup brushes ( I used angled eyeshadow brushes)
  • Mirror
  • Bowl of warm water

1. To create this look I began by having a image in front of me to use as a guideline. Once I found the perfect image I began by using my trusty eyeliner pencil to begin to line out the features of Venom’s face beginning with the eyes before moving down onto the mouth.

2. Once I had a general outline of his features I then went back to add the small details still with the pencil so that it would be easy to correct any mistakes. Again I started at the eye, adding a little shading before continuing to fill out Venom’s teeth, added details to the gums and finally drew in his tongue.

3. Once everything was drawn I then went in with the face paint. I used Snazaroo face paint as this is great to use on big areas, is greqt quality and also very pigmented. Again I began at the face, going in with the white first then with the black to cover my face before moving down my body. The drawing covered my face, neck, chest shoulers and arms so the process took a while.

4. Next I focused on colouring in the smaller details such as the teeth, gums and tongue. This took a long time – around 2 hours as I used a small angled eyeshadow brush to get in all the nooks and crannies and to be more precise. I was a difficult task but my arms got a good workout!

5. The last step was to add some highlight and spray my face with setting spray to hold it all in place. I did add some lines to the one of my arms so it looked like the suit has been torn off. After that I went in with a liquid eye liner to get the places around my eye I didn’t dare use the face paint on to really make sure my eye was covered so that the white would pop.

And this is the finished result! I have to say I’m no MUA and as this is my first try I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. So what do you guys think? What are you going as for halloween? Let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for stopping by!

Sick Day Essentials 🤒

Being sick is no fun. I woke to a sore throat last week which quickly turned into full blown flu. But having spent the last week living in my pyjamas, being a ball of coughs and sneezes it looks like I am finally on the mend (hoorah!) But winter is coming. Which means flu season is right around the corner, so I thought this was the perfect time to share with you my sick day essentials so that you can be prepared!

1. Medicine
If you’re feeling under the weather. Go speak to your local pharmacist and get yourself some medication to relieve your symptoms. Seriously I couldn’t coped this week  if it wasn’t for my trusty Beechams day and night tablets. Don’t suffer unnecessarily

2. Cosy PJ’s
Stay warm. Stay cosy. Stay comfortable. Those are the rules of being ill so grab those fluffy PJ’s and go get tucked up. Trust me under the covers is the best place to recover.

3. Hot water and honey
I have essentially lived off this stuff this past week. Grab your favourite mug, plop in a few teaspoons of honey and fill with hot water and voila! A great natural remedy for that pesky sore throat.

5. Movies/TV shows
Okay being ill sucks but at least you curl up and watch all your favourite shows/movies. For me a sick day will usually include binge watching The Middle all day. There’s nothing quite like the Heck’s to cheer me up.

6. Snacks, snacks baby
What I eat when I’m ill depends on what’s wrong with me but like most people usually all I want is comfort food and being sick is the perfect excuse for it. Whether you want cookies, chocolate or good old fashion soup this is the time you allow yourself a little extra helping of TLC or that last cookie. Whatever you want. Being sick is hard and you deserve it.

7. Cuddle buddy
Now I know this isn’t for everyone but I’d definitely recommend finding yourself a one of these. Preferably a fluffy one with four legs and a wet nose.

8. Books
Escape reality for a few hours in a good ol’ book or grab yourself a few magazines to keep you entertained. Still bored? You could always fire up the PlayStation but that would mean getting up…

So there you have it all of my sick day essentials. What’s one thing you have to do/have when your sick? Is there a particular meal you like to have or movie to watch? Let me know and may you have a sniffless winter!

Until next time,

8 Fun Ways To Get Into The Halloween Spirit 🎃

The time has come. Halloween is just around the corner which means it’s time to embrace your dark side. What? You thought because you’re too old for trick or treating that the fun has stop? Oh no. Trust me, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the night of screams regardless of age or size and I’m being the all-out-Halloween kinda gal I am. I’m going to share some fun ideas on how you can get into the spooky spirit this Halloween!

1.Halloween Movie Marathon
If like me you’re into scary films, then why not embrace the spooky season by turning off the lights and watch all of your favourite horror movies. Feeling brave? Get a blanket and watch them alone or grab some tasty snacks and invite your friends over for some moral support.

2.Bake Some Halloween Treats
What’s Halloween without some themed goodies? Baking is a great way to embrace the season and is something the whole family involved in. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Pinterest has a whole host of ideas to try from marshmallow ghosts to Sugar skull pizzas so make sure to check them out!

3.Decorate The House
Halloween is all about the decorations. Don’t get me wrong I like to go all out with decorating if I’m hosting a party or horror night – covering the house from top to bottom in cobwebs, spiders and skeletons. It’s a fun thing everyone can stuck into and really gets you into the spirit. But otherwise I’ll incorporate Halloween into my home with themed homeware. I currently have a pumpkin candle and spooky lights on my fireplace as well as some Halloween themed cushions. Just little subtle touches I have to add to embrace the season without going over the top.

4.Visit A Spooky Attraction
There are many Halloween themed attractions to visit once October arrives. Which ones you visit however may depends on your scare ability and age. Thorpe Park in the UK has some amazing attractions and events this time of year, something which I am hoping to go too. There are also things like Hallowscream in York which is amazing if you like to be scared. But there are likely to be many local events going on in your area such as ghost walk if you’re not quite up for being chased round by people with chainsaws.

5.Host A Party
One of my favourite ways to celebrate Halloween is by hosting or attending a party. There’s nothing better than spending time with the people who mean most to you so why not invite the family over, decorate the house and get dressed up in costumes for a night of fun and games.

6.Pumpkin Carving
Pumpkin carving is another one of my favourite things to do. Head to a pumpkin patch and pick out your perfect pumpkin and get creative with all kinds of spooky designs! You could even keep come pumpkin to make some treats with!

7.Halloween Music
Listening to Halloween music is a great way to get yourself in the Halloween mood. There are a tonne of songs to choose from and they really help set the mood, especially if you have people coming over. A few favourites of mine are Michael Jacksons ‘Thriller’ and Bette Midlers ‘I Put A Spell On You’ from Hocus Pocus.

8. Trick or Treat
Relive your youth and take the children trick or treating! Get them dressed up in cute spooky costumes and head out for a night of good old fashioned fun. Make sure to teach them a rhyme a sing and be sure to take lots of photos. Don’t have any little ones to take? Get dressed up and hand out sweets yourself!

So there you have it! Some fun ways to help get you in the spooky spirit this Halloween! What’s one way you like to celebrate Halloween?

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Primark Haul 🛍️

Hi guys and welcome back!

Today I’m bringing you a little Primark Haul. With me now having a job (hoorah!) I decided to treat myself to celebrate and with Autumn now in full swing I knew Primark would have a whole host of new and exciting goodies for me to get my hands on.

Now I went in there to look at one particular item of clothing. Something I had, had my eye on for a while but would it really be a Primark trip if I only bought one thing? I mean, has that actually ever happened? So like many more before me and many others after me I fell for temptation and ended up coming out with a load of bits and pieces I didn’t really need but absolutely adore!

Corduroy skirt
Okay so the first thing I picked up was the thing I initially went in for which was this cute black corduroy mini skirt. Now I’m not much of a skirt fan. Imma chucky calved kinda gal – a unwelcome side effect of years of doing physical sports and exercise but after seeing these all over Instagram and being swamped by them at work I decided to give it a try. At first I really wasn’t keen. The skirt itself was lovely. It was really soft and comfortable and fell just above my knee, hiding all the parts of my legs I didn’t want to see but I didn’t feel it looked right with my pale, muscular legs. However after, much deliberation, I decided to purchase it. I’d wanted it for so long and I knew it would look better once I’d doused myself down with bit of false tan –  if all else failed it would at least look rocking with a pair of warm tights and ankle boots and for £8 it was a bargain I couldn’t refuse.

Embroidered Boots
The next thing I picked up were these gorgeous black embroidered ankle boots. I’d seen these a while ago and decided I wasn’t daring enough to wear them because they are a very statement piece and I’m not really a bold fashion person but decided to get them right there and then as recently I’ve found myself wanting to try new things and find ‘my style’ as I am hoping to get myself a wardrobe make cover once I’m a bit happier and confident with the way I look and I knew I would regret it later if I didn’t get them. I mean, they are gorgeous! And if I really needed to come up with a excuse to justify why I got them I can say they will look good with new skirt and black tights.

All right I don’t know about you but I think Primark are absolutely killing the beauty game right now. They’ve brought out some great ranges and some equally fab products. Sure there are some hits and misses but from what I’ve tried I think they’re pretty good – especially for such a little price! I’ve repurchased a few of their products so decided to pick up a couple of new things to try whilst I was in there.

Satin Liquid Lipstick
I’m a sucker for a good ol’ nude lip. So I was immediately drawn to this as soon as I spotted it. I got the colour Like That which is a pale pink/nudey colour and is apart of their latest ‘Insta Girl’ Collection – I mean how fitting? The packaging is really classy and hold a lot of product for just £2 and I honestly cant wait to try it.

Priming Oil
I’ve wanted to try a priming oil for the longest time. I have combination skin and live for matte foundations however I always look very flat and dull. Even with highlight I don’t feel I have the look I’m craving which is more of a inner radiance look than a glow so I was super excited when I spied this new priming oil. Again it’s part of the ‘Insta Girl’ collection and costs £5. I haven’t used this yet but it claims to prep and moisturise the skin that with leave you with a dewy finish. I was going to buy the Kiehl’s priming oil after seeing one of the beautiful Jamie Genevieve’s videos however I think wasting £5 to see if I like the look is much better than splurging on something I may not end up liking. I am super excited to try this and I will definitely be doing a review on it so keep your eyes peeled!

Eyelash Curler
The last thing I picked up from the makeup section was a new eyelash curler. My previous one had actually broken that morning so I decided to pick one of these little guys up while I was in there as you cant go wrong for £1. It was only when I got home that I actually realised my previous curler – the one that lasted me about six weeks was also from Primark. Ugh 🙄

Fun Bits And Pieces

The last thing I bought was something I was sucked in by straight away. I didn’t need this but if you read my blogs or know me, you’ll know that I LOVE Halloween and this just screamed my name. It’s this adorable Halloween chocker pack! I mean look how cute they are! I couldn’t stop myself, my favourite holiday and jewellery mixed into one? Yes please! To be honest this could have been a lot worse as there was a tonne of other items like earrings and headbands but also Christmas ones! I only managed to resist because Christmas is still a few months away – meaning I have time to go back and buy them! Honestly, this is my favourite  thing that I picked up. I absolutely adore it and I cant wait to throw it on!

So that’s it! I’m really happy with my purchases and it’s not often I say that as everything tends to get back but I think I will be keeping all of these. I’ll see how I feel once I’ve tried everything on together haha! Let me know if any of you have tried that priming oil, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Abby -x-

My Favourite Halloween Movies 🎃

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. I love everything about it, from pumpkin carving and fancy dress costumes to decorating the house I intend on celebrating in anyway I can – starting by watching a crap tonne of scary movies in the run up to Hallow’s eve.

I have this  thing where I can’t watch seasonal themed movies when it isn’t the holidays. It’s just not right. So I tend to I save all the horrors and thrillers just for Halloween to get me in the spooky spirit. So whether you’re a scaredy cat or fright night fanatic here’s my favourite Halloween movies you should definitely be watching this month!

Hocus Pocus – This is my absolute favourite Halloween movie of all time. If you haven’t seen this, one, where have you been?! and two you need to go out and get it right not because honestly it is just the best. Telling the story  of the three witches resurrected on Halloween night and it is up to two teens, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to their reign of terror. An absolute MUST for Halloween!

Halloween – It wouldn’t be Halloween without a mad man in a creepy white mask now would it? After being institutionalised for 15 years later for murdering his sister, a young man escapes and returns to his home town in order to wreak havoc.

Hotel Transylvania – Can you believe that I only recently saw this? See Dracula as you have never seen him before. Count Dracula, now operates a five star hotel away from the danger of the human world but a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teen-aged (ish) daughter.

The Purge – The first in a series of gruesome but thrilling movies. Set in a futuristic America where the government sanctions a 12-hour period once a year in which all criminal activity is legal – including murder. Gruesome and heart pounding this isn’t for the squeamish.

The Addams Family – An oldie but a goodie. The Addams Family is not your typical family, they take delight in most of the things of which normal people would be terrified. Candlelit dinner in the grave yard anyone?

Silence Of The Lambs – one of my favourite movies of all time. Looking for something to creep you out this Halloween? Then look no further than Dr Hannibal Lecter. Brilliant psychiatrist and insane cannibal who agrees to help rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling catch an elusive psychopath in a deadly game of wits.

Practical Magic – Two witch sisters, raised by their eccentric aunts in a small town, face closed-minded prejudice and a curse which threatens to prevent them ever finding lasting love

Scream – A horror classic. Scream takes place in a small town populated by a group of naïve teens who fall victim to a psychotic murderer wearing a Halloween costume but this isn’t your typical horror movie.

So there you have it, my favourite Halloween movies! I’ve actually found a few new horrors to sink my teeth into this month including The Conjuring, The Corpse Bride and The Strangers. Has anyone seen these? Let me know if you have and what your favourite Halloween movies are I’m always looking for more!

Until next time,
